Why Would You Want to Drink Kratom in Your Tea?
There are a plethora of ways to enjoy Kratom, so why tea? Well, the answer is that it tastes the best out of all of the other methods to use it. There are other reasons, and some include the remedy of the cure has always been passed down in teas. There is an ancient belief in tea, and they passed it down for generations. However, some other people like tea, because it goes down the best of all of the other methods. It’s easy to drink tea, and not so easy to use the other methods that may taste… well horrible.
How do You Make Kratom Tea?
There are many ways to make Kratom tea, and there is the wrong way as well as the right way. We’ll compare the two in the next few paragraphs. However, tea is easy to make. You just need a tea bag (or leaves), and some boiled water.
Wrong Way to Make Kratom Tea
Yes, there is a wrong way to boil the tea. First off, if you use other products of Kratom and not the original leaf forms, you can end up stripping the product of the Alkaloid contents, and have no effects whatsoever. There is also the way that you mix the product in with your boiling water. This way will 100% guarantee that the alkaloids will be absorbed into the water, and have no effect. There are many other ways to do this wrong, but these are the basic examples.
The Right Way to Make Kratom Tea
The right way to boil tea is to do it this way. Start by measuring one teaspoon of powdered Kratom leaves. Do Not Use Extracts! Then add it to 2-4 cups of water, and boil it, the more water you use, the fewer effects you’ll get per cup. If you drink all of the tea, though, you will still get the same effects. Next, Put some Kratom powder into a large cup, and add the boiled tea into the cup. Then stir it, ensuring that there are no clumps. You can then add sugar or sweetener to it to lessen the horrible taste, like coffee. You can also use ice cubes to dilute the tea as well—anything to help the flavor profile.
What is the Best Recipe?
There are many great ways to boil Kratom in tea. However, there are a few that come to mind when boiling Kratom tea, and here is the recipe for the best one.
- Boil water in a kettle.
- Put both teabags and Kratom in the teapot and pour boiling water over the top.
- Let it steep for 20-30 minutes.
- Remove teabags.
- Put teapot in the fridge and let it sit overnight. Kratom will settle to the bottom.
- In the morning, slowly pour the tea into a glass. Be sure to stop pouring once you notice the plant matter is about to come out of the spout. There will be a layer of kratom sludge left in the teapot—just dump it down the sink.
- Sweeten tea and drink! (I like to use two packets of Sweet’N Low.)
There are many other recipes, this is just our personal favorite, and the ingredients you’ll need will be in a list below.
- 1 spearmint teabag
- One chamomile teabag
- sugar
- honey
- One teapot
- 1 cup of water
How do You Filter the Tea?
To filter the tea, you need a coffee filter. You can pour out the tea into a pot or a cup, and the liquid will go into your cup, and the solids will go back into the pot. Repeat this a few times, and you will get the desired filtering effects you were going for.
Does Boiling the Kratom take away the Alkaloid Content?
The short answer is yes. However, the long answer is that it doesn’t take all of the alkaloids away, and it depends on what Kratom brand you use. If you are using Kratom powder or leaves, then the answer is not. If you are using other products that have additives in the product, then the answer is yes, you will lose all of the Alkaloids in your tea. There are right and wrong ways to boil the tea. There is also another way around this, and that is to boil the water and filter it over a coffee filter full of Kratom. This will ensure the quality and quantity of the alkaloids if you worry about losing them.
How do You Make Kratom Tea Taste Better?
There are so many ways to make the tea taste better. One of those ways is to dilute it and make it as watery as possible. You can use ice cubes, pour water in it, or use more water when boiling it. There are simpler methods like adding sweeteners to it like sugar, honey, or even artificial sweeteners. This will give you a sweet taste with a backlash of bitterness with the tea. There are other options like using other sorts of tea to even the tea out. You can use chamomile, lavender, iced tea, spearmint, and many others. They work well if you are in a pinch, and just have some tea bags lying around unused.
What are Other Methods of Preparation There for Kratom?
There are many other options that you can use for Kratom, and we’ll detail them in the sections below. There are many ways that one can ingest Kratom, and they are infinite, but the top ways other than tea are Tinctures, shots, mixing, toss & wash, and pill forms.
Tinctures
Tinctures have been popular with people who like to vape. They use oil tinctures as drops under their tongue, and even to swallow. You can also use it to make food with. There are a ton of ways to use oil tinctures, and the ways mentioned above are only a fraction of what you can do with this method of preparation. This method is also more expensive, because of the way that it’s made.
Shots
This is a fun method and one that many people have chosen to use. They send them in shot forms, sort of like an 8-hour energy shot. They send them in packs of 4, 8, 12, and more, but you can also buy them as a solo or duo pack. A lot of people use this method because of the taste and the milligram content.
Mixing
People love this option because they like to eat their Kratom. They like to cook with their Kratom, and either use a tincture form or the powder form. Both will work, but the tinctures make it tasteless, and odorless. The powder gives a sort of crispy and dry feel and taste.
Toss & Wash
This is one of the preferred methods of casual and experienced users. This is the most difficult method to use. However, even though this is the hardest, it arguably has the strongest kick to it as well. For this method, you basically take a spoonful of Kratom powder, and down it. Since it’s a dehydrated product, you will need to wash it down with something, as well as to keep hydrated. This is a difficult way to be sure, but with the most potent effects, experienced users love this method.
Pills
You can have the Kratom powder placed into capsules, or even take them in a tablet form. There are many ways to do this, and for the easiest way, you can buy them in these forms. They will give you the milligram content so that you can use them as you want. This is one of the best ways to monitor your intake of Kratom too.
Why Tea for Kratom?
Of all of the methods mentioned above, why would you want to drink the tea to get your Kratom? Well, this is the easiest way to keep it down. No one likes to take pills, either capsules or tablets. No one really knows exactly how much Kratom is in a shot of it, no one wants to swallow a spoonful of it when it can be just as bad a cinnamon, and it’s better than having to cook powder, or buy expensive tinctures to cook it in their food. So the answer to why tea for Kratom is simple. It’s a great place for beginners to start. It’s easy to brew, it doesn’t go down terribly, it’s relatively inexpensive, and there are only a few ways to mess it up.
